Update: Missing Woman’s Body Found, Suspect In Custody

\"Kristen-Tyler\"Update 3:24 pm The 27-year-old Salina Woman’s body has been found has been recovered in an area northwest of Salina.

The body was found Thursday afternoon in an area west of I-135 and south of I-70 near Stimmel Road. Road blocks have been set up.

Additional information has not yet been made available.

Update: A 24-year-old Salina man was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon at a Abilene Motel as a person of interest in the case of 27-year-old Salina woman who has been missing for two weeks.

Lt. Scott Siemsen says Joel M Heil was arrested at the Americas Best Value Inn in Abilene late in the afternoon Wednesday on charges unrelated to the case of Kristen Tyler who was last heard from the evening of April 25th.

Siemsen said the investigation leads authorities to suspect foul play is involved in the disappearance, but won’t know until Tyler is located.

Siemsen would not comment due to the ongoing investigation what made Heil a person of interest in the case.

Salina police have arrested a man they call a \”person of interest\” in the disappearance of Kristin Tyler.

A search of a salvage yard west of Salina Wednesday evening didn’t turn up any evidence, he said. He said two trained dogs and four handlers searched the salvage yard for about four hours. We will continue to follow the story and give you update as we get them.

Salina Police are expected to make a release later Wednesday concerning a missing 27-year-old Salina woman last seen nearly two weeks ago.

Salina Police expect to release information about a \”person of interest\” in the missing woman case sometime this afternoon.

Kristin Tyler, 27, has been missing since April 25th. Police call her disappearance suspicious.

Tyler last had contact with friends on the evening of April 25th, and was reported missing by family the following weekend.

Her car was found on Monday April 29th in a parking lot of an east Salina apartment complex.

Tyler’s mother, Lisa Dockstader told a Wichita TV station Tuesday, that an anonymous woman called her Monday afternoon saying her missing daughter’s body could be found at a salvage yard west of Salina.
